Adult Faith Formation

Description: Faith formation is a process of having our faith become conscious, living and active in a relationship with God and God’s people. Our faith grows and develops like any other relationship. It develops and continues to develop and grow all our life. Faith growth begins at birth and develops stage by stage with its own particular behavior patterns. It continues to grow and change into our last years of life. It is never finished.

Adult Faith Formation is important in every adult’s life in order to continue growth in the spiritual life just as in our places of work we continue to take workshops or courses or go to conferences to improve in the work place.

A.C.T.S. Retreats for women only and men only are directed and co-directed by members of the parish who have been appointed by the pastor. These retreats begin on a Thursday evening at a designated retreat center and end on a Sunday morning at a parish Liturgy of the Eucharist (Mass). The retreat talks and activities are facilitated by various women on the Women’s retreat and by men during the Men’s retreat. A spiritual director is present for those who desire to speak to a spiritual director.

(A Spiritual Director is a person who listens deeply and companions another person in their faith journey. The person seeking Spiritual Direction desires to grow in their spiritual life and their faith in God. A person’s spiritual life deals with their relationship with God and therefore with prayer and their relationship with other people.)
