Thursday Night Studies in the Catholic Faith Starts a New Series!
November 30, 2021 at 6:00:00 AM

In January, we will start a new study at St. Mark’s. The study is: Mary, the Bible and the Mother of God. Dr. Brandt Petre will guide us through eight sessions through topics titled “The New Eve”, “The New Ark”, “Mother of the Messiah”, “Mother of Sorrows” and others. Each session will consist of group study and videos on each topic. The material presented is based on both the Old Testament and the New Testament. Here is an excerpt from the session “Mother of Sorrows”.

Sometimes, Mary can be seen like an unreachable unrelatable figure. A sinless woman with a perfect son – what could she know of the troubles we are facing? In this session, we will gain a fuller understanding of the deep suffering Mary experienced in her life which qualify her, next to Jesus as someone we can turn to for compassion and strength.

f you have ever wondered about Mary, the Mother of God and her role as our Mother and advocate, come and join us for this study. We expect to begin on Thursday, January 6 and continue for eight weeks. Contact Don Cosgrove, 210-710-0722, or cosgrove-don@msn.com with any questions you might have.
