2019 Scholarship Winners Announced

Once again,the competition was strong as 21 of our high school senior parishioners competed for Women’s Guild and Knights of Columbus scholarships.  In addition to high school academics, other areas evaluated included writing skills (with an essay), verbal skills (with an interview), school activities, community activities, and church activities,with church activities having the greatest emphasis.

 

Ten $1000 scholarships are being awarded, five each from the Women’s Guild and the Knights of Columbus.  The scholarships can be applied at any certified College, University, Junior College, or Vocational school.

 

Twenty members of the Women’s Guild and the Knights of Columbus made up the team of Evaluators.  With the exception of the interviews, all evaluations were done anonymously.

 

The recipients of the Women’s Guild scholarships are:  Liliana Bitter, Donna Gil, Danniella Ongmanchi, Eliza Perez and Elisabeth Wang.The Knights of Columbus scholarships go to:  Emile Huggins, Joan Elise Huggins, Catherine Kamen, Mikayla Nasis, and Blaine Von Dohlen.

 

Congratulations to all the applicants, especially the scholarship recipients, for their outstanding academic performance and service to church and community.
