About the event

An Invitation from Archbishop Gustavo

The Eucharist is not something we are meant to keep to ourselves. We receive the Eucharist so that we can share the presence of Christ with the world. We take Christ into ourselves, so that we can bring him to others in our lives. We are supposed to be the Body of Christ, so that the world can experience Christ!

The Eucharist demands of us—of each one in a unique way—a concrete way of sacrificing one’s life at the service of God’s Holy People. Our commitment to transform our own lives for the good of our families, our communities, our country, the Church and the entire world, is an expression of the action of the Holy Spirit who is transforming us and the universe—in a certain way—into Eucharist.  So, come as you are.  Let’s assemble in prayerfulness and unity during our Archdiocesan Eucharistic Congress.  Let’s allow ourselves to become a part of Him, part of his Body. Then go forth and make his presence known in the way we speak, the way we act, the way we love, the way we sacrifice for others, the way we care for the poor and neglected, the way we forgive tirelessly, and the way we pray for those who love us and for those who don’t.

I pray wholeheartedly for you to join us in our 2023 Assembly—Archdiocesan Eucharistic Congress: Jesus Christ, Nourishment for the World on Friday, November 3rd in your parishes and Saturday, November 4th in the Campus of St. Mary’s University.

Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller, M.Sp.S.
