"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Matthew 28: 19-20

This preparation is for any parent whose child will be baptized and for the godparents of that child.  This two hour session from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm is a time to explore how Baptism is a commitment to God and God’s Church, as well as concretely looking at their roles and responsibilities in raising the child in the Catholic faith.  The spiritual hopes and dreams of the parents for the child are identified, the significance of the baptismal promises and symbols are discussed, and the meaning of original sin, the communion of saints and how the child becomes priest, prophet and king are reflected upon.  A short rehearsal is a part of the session.
