Who We Are
Traveling Loaves & Fishes (TLF) is a community service-orientated 501(c)3 non-profit organization operating out of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. Traveling Loaves & Fishes began life as Mobile Loaves and Fishes (MLF), an auxiliary truck unit connected to Mobile Loaves and Fishes, Austin. The first truck run of MLF from St. Mark’s took place on January 12, 2004. When MLF Austin expanded its ministry to include housing for the homeless, it could no longer support its outlying truck ministries.
In January, 2017, Traveling Loaves & Fishes (TLF) was organized to continue the ministry begun by MLF. The Chairman of the TLF Core Team is LaVerne Dysart (210-488-3514/tlf.dysart@gmail.com). First Vice Chairman is Kathleen Meade (210-854-8223/ksmeade@yahoo.com).
What We Do
Our mission is to provide food and clothing with dignity to the homeless and other disadvantaged communities of San Antonio, Texas and its surrounding areas through the daily delivery of nourishing meals and compassionate interaction.
When We Serve
Breakfast items, lunches and hot evening meals are prepared and delivered Monday through Friday. Bag lunches are delivered on Saturdays and Sundays.
Where We Serve
The TLF kitchen is located on the West Campus of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Building 11. Meal deliveries are made to Catholic Worker House, Rescue Mission, and Living Stones and other charities in need.
