The Wheel Chair Ministry was established at St Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in 2008. We conduct one fund raiser annually, usually in June. We are part of The American Wheel Chair Mission. This is a non-profit organization dedicated to making IMMOBILE people MOBILE. We deliver this MOBILITY into the lives of people with physical disabilities who have no means to acquire a wheel chair. The delivery of a wheel chair to a person without MOBILITY improves the quality of life for the whole family. A donation of $150 will pay for one wheel chair and it is estimated that each wheel chair improves an average of ten lives. We have delivered wheel chairs to the needy in Nuevo Laredo, Guadalajara, Mexico City, VA Hospitals, Selma Alabama and Clergy Retirement Centers as well as several local needy people. If you wish to help provide wheelchairs to those in need with a monetary donation, you may simply place a check (payable to American Wheelchair Mission) in the collection basket the next time you come to Mass at St. Mark's.
