The Women’s Guild started in 1976, the year St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Parish began. It was originally called the Altar Society. Our mission is “to support the Pastor and the Ministries of St. Mark’s Parish.” Monthly meetings and other activities promote the spiritual growth and fellowship of our members, and develop religious, and educational enrichment of the parish.

Bake sales, Trash & Treasure sales, a book sale , Craft Fair and Spring Scholarship Fundraiser  are among the many ways money is raised to support the parish, ministries, charities, and scholarships for the parish youth.

All women of the parish are invited to join in the rewarding work of the Women’s Guild and experience the fruits of the organization’s labors. The current active committees are:

· Art & Environment: Plan & organize the sacred space for the different liturgical seasons

· Communication & Publicity: Notify members, the parish and the public about the guild’s functions

· Hospitality: Welcome new members to the guild and providing refreshments for scheduled meetings

· Lunch Bunch: Plan monthly lunch gatherings at local restaurants or homes for members

· Retreat: Plan and organize annual faith-based retreat open to all women in the parish

· Rosary: Lead and pray the Rosary the 3rd Saturday of each month in the main sanctuary

· Sanctuary: Help provide and maintain items for the altars, priest, and altar servers

· Scholarship: Administer scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are members of the parish.

· Sewing: Make baptismal stoles and other items as requested by the parish office.
